Puppy Foundations

Give your puppy the best possible start

One to one puppy training at your home, built around your puppy, your family and your week.

Bringing home a puppy is exciting. It can also be completely overwhelming.

One minute you are delighted with your new best friend. The next you are wondering whether you are doing any of this right, why they will not listen, and whether what is happening is even normal.

Toilet training, biting, jumping, recall, lead walking, settling, sleep, and learning to cope with the big wide world. There is a great deal for your puppy to learn, and a great deal for you to work out alongside them.

And with so much conflicting advice out there, it is hard to know what your puppy actually needs or where to begin.

You do not have to work it out on your own.

What this is

Puppy Foundations is a personalised programme designed to help you build the foundations for a confident, well adjusted dog.

Puppies do not come with a manual, so we focus on helping you understand how puppies learn, and on giving you the skills to guide them through these first important months.

Together we build practical life skills, develop your relationship, and help your puppy work out how to cope with the world around them.

It happens at your home and at your pace, which means everything is built around your actual puppy and your actual life rather than a set curriculum.

Puppies come in every shape, size and personality

From tiny, tenacious terriers to endlessly loyal labradors to enormous mastiffs, I have worked with a very wide range of puppies and their owners.

I have helped owners build their puppy’s confidence around traffic, busy places and unfamiliar people.

I have helped puppies learn that they do actually need to sleep, and how to settle and switch off rather than feeling they have to keep going.

And I have helped owners learn how to play with their puppy, which builds the relationship from the very beginning and is one of the most underrated things you can do.

Three follow up sessions, forty five minutes each. At your home or somewhere that suits what we are working on.

A tailored training plan and everyday management guidance, built around your puppy, your household and your lifestyle.

Personalised exercise sheets and resources, so you always know what you are practising and why.

The Puppyhood Guide. Everything you need through those first months, in one place, to go back to whenever you need it.

Detailed notes and a session recap after every session, plus feedback on your practice and support by message throughout.

My progress guarantee

If you have consistently followed the training and management we agreed and you are not seeing progress, I will keep working with you at no extra cost until we have reviewed what is happening, adjusted the approach and you know what to do next.

You do not need to have it all figured out

You just need the right support to get started.

My aim is to give you more than a list of things to teach your puppy. I want you to understand why you are doing it, how to make it achievable, and how to keep building on it as your puppy grows.

AVAILABILITY

I take on a small number of new puppy clients each month, so that you and your puppy get the time, focus and support you need.

FAQS

The earlier the better, and it is worth asking even before your puppy comes home.

It is one to one rather than a group, which means everything is built around your puppy and your household rather than shared across a room.

Yes. We start at your home, because most of what shapes a puppy happens there.

That is a very normal place to start. Tell me about it on the call.

Give your puppy the best start

The puppy stage can feel like a whirlwind, but you do not have to get through it on your own. Book a free fifteen minute call, tell me about your puppy and what you would like help with, and we will work out where to start.
